Creating huge sounds and magical memories
Drumming is a very natural and accessible form of expression and can be an effective medium for building group work and ‘drumming up’ team spirit.
A drumming team never forgets the experience of creating that huge unified sound and the rhythmic powerful pulse of drumming together.
Mzuri drumming classes specialize in hand and stick rhythms from East, South and Central Africa.
The approach to learning is simple, fun and interactive with call and response and related song and dance that accompany the rhythms.
Movement and voice are an integral part of African drumming and is an optional extra for the participants in the workshop process. The dance and song is approached in an easy and supportive environment giving meaning and structure to the drumming patterns.
Mzuri drum workshops can cater for up to 30 – 40 participants of any age group.
Larger groups can be catered for on request.
